Sunday Afternoons of Music announces varied 2011-2012 season

Pianist Simon Trpceski will be among the artists featured in the 31st season of Sunday Afternoons of Music.

Sunday Afternoons of Music will enter its fourth decade with a compelling lineup of musicians in 2011-2012, including several names new to its series.

Violinist Ray Chen who recently released his debut recording on Sony, will perform a recital Dec. 10 at Gusman Concert Hall on Coral Gables. And the acclaimed Macdeonian pianist Simon Trpceski will come to Miami for a recital on Feb. 25.

Other guest artists include cellist David Finckel, of the Emerson String Quartet, with pianist Wu Han on Jan. 7, the Miro String Quartet Feb. 12, pianist Kirill Gerstein March 25, and violinist Sergei Krylov May 19.

The season will also include cellist Ross Harbaugh and pianist Paul Posnak in September and a recital by favorite local soprano Elizabeth Caballero in December.

Subscriptions are $250, $225 for seniors with individual events $40 and $32. Sunday Afternoons of Music will also offers its Chidren’s Series as well. Call 305-271-7150 or visit sundaymusicals.org.
