Chicago Symphony, Israel Philharmonic on tap in 2019 Arsht season

The Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami has announced its classical lineup for the 2019 season.

The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra will open the season January 5. The program will include music of Mozart, Dvorak and Matheson with pianist Javier Perianes. The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra returns on February 6 with Zubin Mehta leading the ensemble in his farewell tour. Program is TBA.

The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields is up next February 23 with pianist Jeremy Denk. The program offers music of Albinoni, Mozart, Haydn, Britten and C.P.E. Bach.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra will close the season February 27. Riccardo Muti leads the ensemble in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.
