Russian State Symphony cancels tour, Broward Center event

By Lawrence A. Johnson

Due to “unforeseen circumstances beyond its control,” the Russian State Symphony Orchestra has cancelled its 2011 U.S. tour, which was to have included a January 31 concert at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Ticketholders can exchange their tickets for another event in the Broward Center Classical Series, donate their tickets for students at another performance, or receive a full refund.

The remaining concerts in the Broward Center Classical Series are: The King’s Singers performing a holiday program (Dec. 13, 2010); Toronto Symphony Orchestra (Jan. 11, 2011); French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet (Feb. 7, 2011); Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (Feb, 17, 2011); legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman (Feb. 28, 2011); and renowned flautist Sir James Galway (March 17, 2011).
