Sunday Afternoons of Music will serve up a varied and notable lineup for its 2013-14 season, with an array of instrumentalists, singers, and chamber groups.

The 33rd season of the series, helmed by Doreen Marx, will open September 8 with gifted young cellist Joshua Roman, who recently performed with the New World Symphony.

The acclaimed fast-rising mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard will make her South Florida debut May 18, 2014 in a recital of songs and arias. Celebrated pianist Richard Goode returns for a recital March 16 and violinist Ray Chen, who make a well-received 2011 debut in the series, will return February 16.

Also appearing next season will be the Amernet String Quartet (January 12), the New Trio (January 26) and the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida (December 15). Sunday Afternoons will also present six events in its children’s concert series.

All performances take place at Gusman Concert Hall at the University of Miami in Coral Gables. For more information, call 305-271-7150 or log on to sundaymusicals.org.
