Florida Grand Opera’s music director is taking up a second South Florida conducting post as artistic director of Opera Naples in the gulf city across Alligator Alley. Tebar will still continue to conduct at FGO.

“I am very honored to be appointed Artistic Director of Opera Naples, a company that has grown non-stop since its founding, which is a real achievement in today’s opera world,” said Tebar in a released statement. “I am looking forward to a very productive and creative relationship, and to making music for such an exciting community.”

Opera Naples presents four productions a season. The company’s 2014-15 season has not yet been announced.
