Igor Stravinsky

The University of Miami’s enterprising Frost Opera Theater continues its series of productions of 20th- and 21st-century operas on Thursday and Saturday with Igor Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. Inspired by the famous Hogarth engravings, the 1951 opera’s libretto by W.H. Auden and Chester Kalman, this celebrated score marks the conclusion of Stravinsky’s neo-Classical period. Alan Johnson conducts the student singers and orchestra.

Frost Opera Theater presents Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Saturday at UM Gusman Concert Hall in Coral Gables. music.miami.edu; 305-284-2400.
