When the Jerusalem Quartet gave a concert in Palm Beach during the 2011-2012 season, South Florida Classical Review opined “Few chamber ensembles produce the sheer beauty of tone of the Jerusalem String Quartet.” The Israel foursome return to Miami after a long absence on Wednesday night with a program mixing classicism and French impressionists for Friends of Chamber Music.

Haydn’s Quartet in G Major, Op. 76, No. 1 will be the evening’s curtain raiser. In a treat for musical Francophiles, the string quartets of both Debussy and Ravel complete the evening.

Friends of Chamber Music presents the Jerusalem Quartet 8 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Beth Am in Pinecrest. miamichambermusic.org; 305-372-2975
