As South Florida music organizations shut down, a note on the coronavirus

By Lawrence A. Johnson

As across the country, nearly all South Florida classical music organizations and performing arts institutions are closed and events cancelled for the next two weeks and into April due to COVID-19. These include the Kravis, Broward and Arsht Centers, the New World Symphony, Palm Beach Opera, and Seraphic Fire.

Due to the closing of the Arsht Center, Florida Grand Opera’s Miami performances of Verdi’s Rigoletto are cancelled; the April 30 and May 2 performances at the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale are still taking place on schedule at this time.

Check back for further updates. We will keep the SFCR calendar listings up to date to reflect evolving developments and indicate streaming options.

Stay safe and we will all get through this together.
